TSB Launches New Solo Jr Element Monitor With Sale to British Telecom

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Toronto, Ont. May 6, 2003 – TSB Solutions Inc. shipped the first of its new Solo Jr remote element monitors today to its largest customer, British Telecom (BT). The 60-unit shipment is part of a BT order for 250 units to be delivered by TSB over the next 6 months.  The value of the contract was not disclosed but base Solo Jr models list at US$2,200.

BT has used TSB hardware products exclusively since 1988 as part of its Remote Access Customer Equipment (RACE) program, and thousands of TSB units are operating throughout the United Kingdom.  “This new Solo model is a powerful, inexpensive platform to help BT extend its maintenance services offering to the remote desktop”, said Remote Platforms Strategy Manager, Andy Clark.  “Over the years, BT has had great success using TSB’s element monitors.  TSB’s hardware and software applications have allowed BT to monitor and manage – consistently, service levels for a large variety of customer premises equipment.”

Using dial-up, Ethernet or ISDN communications, Solo lets telecom service providers like BT manage multi-vendor customer premises equipment such as PBX’s and voicemail, and provides transparent stroke-by-stroke reach-through to desktop applications in end-users’ networks.  Unlike PC’s and general-purpose computers, TSB’s Solo units are real-time devices featuring backup power supplies, interactive security and downloadable OEM-specific configuration and support software.

TSB Solutions Inc. designs and manufactures Solo remote element management monitors used to transport alarms, traffic, configuration and billing data from network equipment; develops software applications used for data transport, network security, billing and performance configuration; and operates Calls, Canada’s first telephone cost allocation service bureau.

An employee-owned business, incorporated in Toronto, Ontario, TSB Solutions is the assets, products and installed base of the former TSB International Inc., a publicly traded company purchased by Peregrine Systems in 2000.  Peregrine filed for bankruptcy on September 22, 2002.
