Toronto, Ont., Dec. 16, 2004 – TSB Solutions Inc. has just delivered more than 100 Solo Jr remote element monitors (REM’s) to its largest Canadian customer.  The shipment is the first phase of the service provider’s program to replace its installed base of vintage TSB AT2’s with new Solo units.

The service provider has used TSB hardware products extensively since the early 1990’s as part of its program for remote maintenance of customer premises equipment.  “The new Solo model is a powerful, inexpensive platform to help us improve our maintenance services”, a customer spokesperson said.  “Over the years, we have had great success using TSB’s element monitors.  TSB’s hardware and software applications have allowed us to monitor and consistently manage the service levels for a large variety of customer premises equipment including Mitel SX2000, Mitel SX200 and Nortel Meridian systems.”

Using dial-up or network communications, Solo lets telecom service providers and telcos manage multi-vendor customer premises equipment such as PBX’s and voicemail, and provides transparent stroke-by-stroke reach-through to desktop applications in end-users’ networks.  Unlike PC’s and general-purpose computers, TSB’s Solo units are real-time devices featuring backup power supplies, interactive security and downloadable OEM-specific configuration and support software.

TSB Solutions’ Solo remote element management monitors are in service in 35 countries worldwide, and are used to capture and transport alarms, traffic, configuration and billing data from network equipment.  TSB also develops software applications used for data transport, network security, billing and performance configuration; and operates Calls, Canada’s first telephone cost allocation service bureau.
