SOLO product line in place for July 1 RoHS Compliance Deadline

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Toronto, Ont., June. 8, 2006 TSB Solutions Inc. is proud to announce that its SOLO Family of remote element monitors is on target to meet European Union directive RoHS 2002/95/EC [Restriction of Hazardous Substances, electrical and electronic equipment]. Effective July 1, 2006, the RoHS directive will ban the placing on the EU market of new electric and electronic equipment that contains more than specified levels of lead, cadmium, mercury and hexavalent chromium heavy metals; and PBB and PBDE flame retardant chemicals.

“TSB has focused on environmentally friendly manufacturing, recycling and waste disposal practices for several years” said Gavin Cresswell, Chairman of the company’s Environmental Committee and Manufacturing Manager. “To comply with RoHS the company faced a choice: either replace all the components currently used that contain banned substances or redesign the products from scratch using components and substances which comply with the RoHS directive.”

“We chose to use RoHS as an opportunity to redesign and improve the product line and we’ve successfully completed the process,” said TSB Solutions’ President, David Kirwan. “Ongoing experience with large non-North American service providers has taught us that RoHS and the 2005 WEEE Directive [Waste Electric and Electronic Equipment disposal] are opportunities to add value and accountability. For example, we have started to re-import our old products for controlled recycling in Canada, lifting some of the overhead for WEEE compliance from our customers’ shoulders. That’s good business and sound environmental practice.”

As of July 1, the RoHS-compliant SOLO product line increases to three models. SOLO, the largest, has additional expansion memory and provides 2x10/100 Mbs network ports as standard equipment. A new model provides similar SOLO functionality in a slim package without input/output contact hardware. SOLO JR, the smallest model, retains its functionality with improved performance and no longer features PCMCIA-based communications technology.

Founded in 1981, TSB Solutions is a pioneer in providing products and services for telecommunications management. The privately owned company designs and manufactures SOLO remote data collection units used by its Information Services Division and by service providers worldwide to monitor and collect network data. TSB also develops software applications for data transport, security, billing and configuration; and offers hosted application services such as IS Online.
