British Telecom Order Launches TSB Solutions’ RoHS-compliant Solo TRIO |

Toronto, ON, Nov. 28, 2006 – TSB Solutions Inc. has received the first order for its new mid-range remote element monitor Solo TRIO from the company’s largest customer, British Telecom (BT). TSB will deliver the first 90 units by the end of the calendar year. |

Service providers like BT use Solo remote element monitors to manage and maintain multi-vendor customer premises equipment such as voicemail, routers, data elements and PBX’s; to monitor and translate SNMP traps; and to provide transparent stroke-by-stoke reach through access to applications running behind the security of customers’ networks. |
||
| Solo units are also widely used by Hosted Services providers such as TSB’s own services bureau, CallCheck Information Services Online, to collect billing, service, configuration and traffic data from which management reports, alarms and real-time queries are generated. | ||
| Solo TRIO is TSB’s first remote element monitor designed from the outset to operate in the emerging IP-based, broadband enterprise network environment. Solo TRIO can communicate using ADSL modem (optional), T100 Mbps Ethernet and 56K dialup modem. Standard equipment includes backup power supply, one USB port, two network interface cards, three RS232 ports and DTE port. | ||
| Earlier in 2006 TSB successfully completed a redesign of its Solo product line to comply with RoHS 2002/95/EC legislation, the rigorous new European Union environmental and hazardous materials restrictions that took effect on July 1, 2006. | ||
| “RoHS was a constructive challenge for us”, said TSB Solutions President, David Kirwan. “Our largest customers operate in Europe so compliance with RoHS is not an option – compliance meant complete redesign. We used the redesign process to improve the Solo product line, adding new functionality like ADSL modem support and expanding protocol support to include VPN over IPSec, IKE, X.509, SSL, SSH, CHAP and MSCHAP. Solo TRIO is a cost-effective mid-range platform that shows how far the hardware has evolved since the days of simple data collector buffer boxes. I predict that a year from now Solo TRIO will be our best-selling product.” | ||
